Gather for a Spring Wedding in Wisconsin!
The sun is shining, the grass is green, and June, once known as one of the most popular months for weddings, is here to welcome a busy summer schedule for Gather, filled with love and memorable evenings.
Spring’s seasonals
Gather is the perfect spot to view what Green Bay has to offer for couples and wedding guests. Located in central downtown, there are plenty of businesses and sights to see during the weekend of the big day. We are located only 3.5 miles from Titletown and Lambeau, and 5.8 miles from De Pere, with plenty of photography opportunities in between. Blossoming spring green trees along the red brick of downtown make for stunningly beautiful color contrasts and the numerous lush green parks and farmland that only a Wisconsin Wedding can produce.
Due to the abundance of rain and snow in our late winter and early spring, Wisconsin’s late spring and transition into summer provides some of the most lush and vibrant grass, reminiscent of an English countryside. There are plenty of gorgeous outside photo opportunities incorporating Wisconsin’s natural scenery including Fonferek’s Glen, Green Bay Botanical Gardens, Voyageurs Park, and numerous walking trails and protected parks!
The Green Bay Botanical Garden has been a wedding photo hot spot for years, a perfect backdrop to showcase the blossoming love of a newly wedded couple and a wonderful way to spend a day in the sun before saying “I do”. Coming out of the dark winter, Spring also allows for windows of time to stretch longer as the sun is out later. Photographs can be taken later, ceremonies and receptions can start later, and you and your guests can party longer!
Gather’s long-time recommended vendor, Petal Pushers, also has a larger variety of florals in the spring and summer, providing breathtaking creations for couples to choose from and create with. Couples have been impressed by the creativity and extravagance of Petal Pusher’s quality for over five years as one of Gather’s trusted vendors, displaying regal flower arches, centerpieces, and lighting fixtures in a way that completely transforms the scene.
Spring is one of the only windows of time the Packer’s schedule does not need to be taken into consideration when organizing a wedding in Green Bay – in the summer the pre-season schedule brings in a crowd of spectators, and of course the fall and winter bring the immensely packed streets, bars, and hotels, but in spring there are no games to organize around! Packer schedules alter a great deal in the area, including availability and prices.
Booking your wedding in spring opens up not only a host of options for florals and outdoor photography, but also a variety of fresh and locally sourced ingredients for Gather’s co-owner and head-chef, Jyll Everman, to work with.
Jyll is always finding inspiration and reasons for getting creative in the kitchen, and moving from spring to summer many fresh ingredients begin to pop out of the ground, including various mushrooms, herbs, and vegetables. Venturing into summer, fresh fruit and more vegetables will become available, but Jyll is sure to utilize spring’s harvest in a way you won’t want to miss either!
Maddy Meyer, Pastry Chef and Catering Manager also has many fresh ingredients starting to make appearances for her desserts, such as lemon, mint, and fresh berries as they arrive in season nearing the summer.
“About 75% of our couples who have booked our venue also book from our dessert menu,” Maddy explained. “Typically the only reason they've decided not to use our dessert menu, or to customize something with us, is because they have a specific business or dish in mind, such as a gelato cart. After couples have their tastings and they taste our menu creations, we have guests deciding to switch to our bakery because of how much thought and detail go into our work, and how great our baked goods are.”
Maddy provides a list of the most popular dishes chosen when booking an event or wedding at Gather that Jyll and her talented team have crafted and perfected over the years, but they also encourage customization for your big day above all else! It’s important not only for the individuals organizing your big day to know you, but also your guests!
Customizable creations
Erin Jacobs, one of Gather’s events managers, was married at Gather in the winter of 2022, and her glowing comment above all else was how excited the staff was to incorporate all of their customizations and traditions into their special evening.
“There was so much love behind the planning both on my and my husband’s part, and the entire staff at Gather,” Erin smiled, “They really made us feel special, and that was so important because it was a special day personalized to what my husband and I wanted.”
A couple’s personality should be celebrated and shown to their loved ones as they enter this new chapter of their lives, would you like Gather to recreate or incorporate aspects from the night you met, your favorite vacation? Is there a certain dish you both love that you want to serve to your guests? Maybe a specific flower represents your love that needs to be a part of your bouquet or centerpiece! Whatever customizations you want, Gather is happy to fulfill them.
“This is your big day, you should be excited,” Zeb Metzler, of Ruby Design said. “Come in with an open mind and with all kinds of fresh ideas, and don't hold anything back! Tell us about your story. I love hearing stories of how people met because that sparks ideas from a designer standpoint of different things we can incorporate into that for the special day. It's really all about getting to know that person who's being authentic, and just being excited about what's to come because it is a very special day. It's something to celebrate, and we'd like to be able to celebrate that with them.”
Couples can view what Gather and our trusted vendors, Petal Pushers, Ruby Design, and How To Productions, have to offer for weddings on the first Tuesday of every month at our Love at First Site event. Here the entire venue has been set up in different stylings to showcase the numerous themes and arrangements that can be achieved within Gather, always keeping it fresh.
“Booking with us means they don't have to reach out multiple times to make sure they have the right amounts,” Maddy pointed out, “they don't have to coordinate drop off services, or worry about setup or takedown -- It's literally all here! We take care of setting it up for them.”
Book your spring or summer wedding today and enjoy the seasonal offerings of Wisconsin, prepared by the talented staff at Gather!
