A Glimpse of Armchair Boogie at Gather!
Armchair Boogie - 09/20/23
Jammin’ bluegrass instrumentals from Armchair Boogie flooded the walls of Gather's stage for the final Farmer’s Market Series concert of the season.
Gather saw one of its biggest crowds with both our main space and cocktail space filled to the brim! You could feel the energy of the crowd as each foot danced to the time of the music.
Ben Majeska, guitarist and lead vocalist of Armchair Boogie, said the entire band was happily surprised by the crowd they drew in.
“The crowd was certainly rockin', so much so that you wouldn't expect it was a Wednesday night,” Majeska said. “We heard a great mix of attentive and explosive cheering at the ends of songs and the peaks of some of our jams.”
Armchair Boogie has brought their music to Gather before, but never to this scale.
“It was great to be back and see how the venue had changed, but we really weren’t expecting just how busy it was going to be,” Majeska smiled. “It was really cool to do a big show, complimentary to the public, we’d never done that before, and the turnout was so amazing.”
Not only are they Gather frequenters, but Armchair Boogie have been to the city of Green Bay numerous times as well.
“We’ve played Green Bay numerous times and have even attended a Packer Game after our first show there,” Majeska explained excitedly. “We checked out the Farmer's Market and most of us grabbed a few things for our girlfriends, and went for a quick boat ride before the show. If only there was a farmer’s market before every show we played! AB [Armchair Boogie] loves GB!”
Gather was happy to have Armchair Boogie back for a night of loud fun, and hopes to have them back soon.
“The hospitality, like always, was amazing,” Majeska smiled. “The reaction from the audience to Jail Cell was pretty awesome, we got people out of their seats! We hope to be back soon to experience the hospitality from Gather. Everyone took great care of us from food to drinks to production, etc. Making artists comfortable equals a higher quality performance no doubt.”
