A Leap Day wedding was just one of the memorable aspects of Shelby and Zach’s marriage at Gather on Broadway. The food, venue, staff, and wedding celebration with family and friends all contributed to an amazing experience.

From the moment she stepped into Gather on Broadway at the venue’s 2016 ribbon cutting, Shelby looked forward to get married there. She instantly fell in love with the chic vibe, exposed brick walls, and high beam ceilings.

“I knew since that day I was going to get married at Gather on Broadway. I didn’t know when or even to who, but I knew I was going to get married there at some point in my life,” she said.

Zach and Shelby started dating in 2017, and they love spending time in downtown Green Bay where Gather on Broadway is located. In the summer, they enjoy stopping at Gather for food and drinks during the Farmers’ Market on Broadway.

“In 2019 after Zach proposed, I immediately asked him if we could get married at Gather on Broadway. He, of course, said yes!” Shelby said. They contacted Gather’s Wedding Events Manager Ahnna Dexter and started planning.

“Ahnna was really great to work with and was able to find ways to make the wedding of our dreams fit in our budget without compromising the important aspects,” Shelby said. “We chose Gather on Broadway not only because we aesthetically loved the space, but also because we loved the staff who make Gather such a special place.”

Shelby and Zach were pleased with how the bartenders handled the rush of people during cocktail hour and kept the energy up throughout the evening. The servers did a great job with dinner and were so kind to guests, Shelby said.

“Chef Jyll and her staff did a phenomenal job with all of the food, from the appetizers, salad course, entrees, all the way to the late-night snack,” she said.

The bride and groom received many compliments from guests about the food – delicious, fresh, and hot. The Crab Fritters were unique and tasty, and the Mac ‘n Cheese Bites were perfectly crunchy, savory, and cheesy after a night of dancing and drinks.

Additionally, Gather on Broadway’s Executive Chef Jyll Everman surprised the wedding couple by serving their dinner.

“That was the only opportunity we had to say hello to her, and we are so glad we could,” Shelby said.

Many of the wedding guests had never been to Gather on Broadway, and they were thoroughly impressed with ceremony and reception.

“The lighting, draping, crystal chandeliers and overall ambiance was perfect for our wedding.
Gather on Broadway is such an astonishing venue overall. I cannot speak highly enough about our experience there,” Shelby said.
