Everything about Chelsea and Kolin’s wedding day was absolutely perfect

One-of-a-kind ceremony

“Starting with the ceremony, there were so many unique parts about the day,” Chelsea said, “from our nephews driving a car down the aisle, to our friends acting as dual-officiants and writing a one-of-a-kind ceremony for us, it was a day we will remember forever as the best wedding we could’ve asked for.”

Beautiful venue

The couple chose to be married at Gather on Broadway because they loved the unique and beautiful venue. Gather on Broadway, located in Downtown Green Bay, is a lovingly renovated historic space with brick walls, exposed steel beams, and soaring wood-planked ceilings.

“The combination of romantic and industrial was perfect for the feel we were going for at our wedding, and we knew it would fit our laid-back personalities with perfect touches of elegant and romantic style,” Chelsea said. Decorating was minimal, which made prepping, set-up, and clean-up a breeze.

“We appreciated the simple, classy style of the space and decided it would be best to just add small touches of greens and candlelight to enhance the beauty that was already there,” Chelsea said.

Amazing food

The couple received more compliments on the food than on anything else. Gather Executive Chef Jyll Everman served short ribs, chicken breast, and pesto penne, and each dish was delicious.

“Jyll did such a fabulous job making sure the meals were just what we wanted. She even offered to make separate dishes for the bride and groom if we wanted anything special or different from our guest meal choices,” Chelsea said. “She clearly has extremely high standards for her food and takes great pride in every meal served at Gather.”

Convenient location

Having the ceremony and reception all in one place was convenient, especially for out-of-town guests who didn’t know the area well. Because the couple did a “first look” before the ceremony, Chelsea and Kolin were able to enjoy the cocktail hour with guests immediately after the ceremony as the space transitioned from ceremony to reception venue.

“One of the greatest things was how smoothly the space was changed over from the ceremony to having tables for almost 240 people ready to eat,” Chelsea said. “We had a pretty large wedding for the space, but the staff made sure that everyone was comfortable and happy all night.

Fantastic staff

Chelsea and Kolin didn’t worry about a thing, as everything fell into place – seemingly effortlessly. “Every detail was taken care of, and the best part was, we didn’t have to worry about any of it,” Chelsea said. Despite not living in Green Bay, Chelsea and Kolin had an easy time planning their wedding with Gather’s Wedding Events Manager Ahnna Dexter. “She did a fantastic job of keeping everything organized exactly the way we wanted it,” Chelsea said.

Private suite

Another special touch available at Gather on Broadway is a private suite where the wedding party gets ready for the day and keeps their belongings during the ceremony and reception.

“It was a beautiful space for taking pictures of the girls getting ready, but even more importantly it has a window looking down on the whole wedding area,” Chelsea said. “There were a couple points throughout the night that we were able to step away for a minute or two and just take in the sight of everyone having a great time.”
