What a memorable day for Chad and Kailee’s winter wedding at Gather on Broadway. They exchanged wedding vows in an intimate, personal ceremony, followed by an electric, party-filled night. This was no cookie-cutter wedding. Chad and Kailee personalized every aspect, and they couldn’t have been happier with the outcome. “We had a family member marry us, and he did an incredible job. So many guests commented on what a beautiful ceremony it was and unlike others they have been to in the past,” Kailee said.
“Our ceremony was so personal and meaningful.”
The perfect venue
Gather on Broadway was the perfect venue for Chad and Kailee because they loved the brick walls, chandeliers, café lights, and candles.
“The venue is absolutely gorgeous! The greatest part is you can do whatever you want with the room to make your big day exactly as you want,” Kailee said. Chad and Kailee arranged the room differently than other couples, with a King’s Table, instead of a traditional Head Table. The wedding party was seated around the table, like a king with his court, not just on one side of a Head Table.
The amazing food
Food Network Star and Gather Executive Chef Jyll Everman prepared pulled pork flatbread and fried mac and cheese for appetizers. For the meal, Chad and Kailee served Caesar salad and entrée choices of herb-roasted chicken breast, peppercorn-crusted filet mignon, salmon, and butternut squash lasagna. Burger sliders were the late-night treat.
“The food was amazing! It wasn’t the boring wedding food like every other venue. Chef Jyll really cares about the quality and presentation of her food, and it really shows,” Kailee said.
The personal touches
At the meal, Chad and Kailee personalized their kissing game to raise money for their favorite organization. In lieu of clinking glasses, guests donated money to the Miracle League of the Fox Valley, a baseball league for kids with cognitive and physical disabilities. Chad and Kailee serve as coaches and steering committee members for the Miracle League.
“We decided this would be a neat way to give back to an organization that has made such a great impact on us,” Kailee said. “The larger the bill, the bigger the kiss!”
The memorable entertainment
Music is a big part of any wedding day, and the couple chose live music over a DJ. Guitarist Just Jake performed at the ceremony, and NEW Piano Guys lit up the reception.
“Every guest commented on what a memorable day and night it was,” Kailee said.
The private suite
The bridal party got ready for the big day in Gather on Broadway’s private second floor suite.
“It made the day much less stressful because I only had to go to one place,” Kailee said. The suite has two bathrooms and plenty of space. There’s even an Apple HomePod to play music.
“The suite was also a great place for me and my groom to escape when we needed a breather during the night,” Kailee said.
The responsive staff
Gather’s Wedding Events Manager Ahnna Dexter and the staff executed every detail with care.
“Ahnna and the team were able to accommodate any request and were so easy to work with. From meeting face-to-face, to the tasting experience with Jyll, to random email questions, the team was so responsive, and everything went so smoothly,” Kailee said.
“Every wedding is so different, but for me, the same goal pertains to all of them,” Ahnna said. “I want to execute everything as perfectly as possible so the couple doesn’t have to worry about anything.”
